Sing Sing

The movie I have most recommended over the last few years may also be the one that many people would have a hard time watching.  In the same way that Shawshank Redemption transcended the confines of a prison to tell one of the most beautiful narratives on freedom ever captured on film, “Sing Sing” does the same.  Incredibly well acted by many of the ex-inmates that have graduated the prison acting program the story revolves around. It is poignant, beautiful, redemptive, and provocative. I have seen it several times, clipped numerous scenes for leadership meetings, and am now on a deep dive into the themes of incarceration and freedom. Incredible film!
